Does Gesta replace Codex or Claude Code?

No. Employees continue working in their supported AI agents. Gesta adds company context, evaluates configured safeguards, and makes activity available for review.

Do employees need to paste company instructions into every prompt?

No. Owners define active Context Rules once. Gesta supplies matching organization guidance to enrolled employee agents.

When should I use Organization Library instead of an Operational Policy?

Use Organization Library for an operating standard that requires judgment, such as preparing rollback steps or reporting verified results. Use an Operational Policy when a recognizable command pattern must warn, require approval, or be blocked.

Can one prompt match more than one Context Rule?

Yes. Keep rules independently useful and use priority to control their order. Avoid copying the same instruction into multiple rules.

Does a deletion request count as confirmation?

No. For destructive or irreversible work, the agent should identify the exact environment, target, scope, and impact, then obtain explicit confirmation before proceeding.

Why does a newly created rule not apply?

Confirm that the rule is Active, its agent scope matches the employee's agent, and the test prompt matches the trigger. Start a new session and test in a safe environment. See Troubleshooting.

Why is an employee machine offline?

The machine may be idle, disconnected, signed in to another organization, or running an outdated runtime. Check last seen, runtime version, integrations, and recent sessions in Manage the agent fleet.

Why does a session appear in My Activity but not My Recap?

My Activity records supported session activity. My Recap is more selective: it summarizes material outcomes rather than every session. See Understand daily recaps for the authoritative selection and timing rules.

Does Gesta import existing agent history when I connect?

What session content does Gesta store and summarize?

Who can see team activity?

Organization-wide views are intended for Owners. Members review their own My Activity and My Recap. Organizations should grant Owner access only where there is a legitimate operational or audit need.

Is Token Efficiency an employee performance score?

No. It is a directional model-usage signal. Interpret it alongside work type, output, investigation, and verification. Do not use it as an unexplained employee ranking.

Does a configured MCP server mean it was used?

Not necessarily. Review both discovered configuration and observed tool calls in MCP and tools.

How should we test secret detection?

Use synthetic values that resemble the format you need to detect. Never place a real credential in a test prompt.

What happens when an approval expires?

The old request cannot authorize later work. The employee should re-check current state and create a new request.

How often should Owners review Gesta?

During rollout, review connection issues, outdated runtimes, pending approvals, and rule matches weekly. After rollout, establish a regular review for adoption, tools, protection outcomes, and company-standard changes.
